ISSUE
The project aimed in the preparation of sewerage final design for the community of Provata in the Prefecture of Serres.

SOLUTION
The community of Provata was served by septic tanks. The produced wastewater was discharged untreated in the broader region resulting in the degradation of the natural environment and the quality of life for local residents.  

The total population of the community based on the 1991 census was 1510 residents.

The design of the project was prepared in accordance with the Greek Presidential Decree 696/74. The design of pipelines was based on a 40-year horizon, while the selection of electrical and mechanical equipment was based on a 20-year horizon.

More specifically, the project included:

• internal gravity sewer network with the community of Provata (total length 4.400m and pipeline diameters ranging from 200mm to 250mm)
• external force main pipeline network (total length 4.500m, and pipeline diameter 3000mm)

BENEFIT
The design of the project resolved wastewater management issues within the community of Provata in the Prefecture of Serres.
