ISSUE
The purpose of the project was the final
design of the water distribution networks for the Municipal Districts of Provatas, Vamvakia, Mitrousi and Monoklisia of the Municipality of Kapetan Mitrousi. A new expanded distribution network was proposed, which covered the entire area of all municipal districts.
SOLUTION
The forementioned municipal districts had a water distribution network made of asbestos, resulting in the degradation of the quality of the water supplied to the residents in the region.
The design of the project was pursuant to the Greek Presidential Decree 696/74. The design of the pipelines was based on a 40-year horizon.
Specifically, the project included internal water distribution networks for the Municipal Districts of Provatas, (with an overall length of 1.500m and pipeline diameters of 140mm), Ano Mitrousi (with an overall length of 1.800m and pipeline diameters of 200mm), Monoklisia (with an overall length of 500m and pipeline diameters of 90mm) and Vamvakia (with an overall length of 1.500m and pipeline diameters of 140mm).
BENEFIT
The design of the water distribution networks, solved the problem of supplyting sufficient quantity and appropriate quality of drinking water to the Municipal Districts of Provatas, Vamvakia, Mitrousi and Monoklisia of the Municipality of Kapetan Mitrousi.
